Why Corporate Teams Train on Azure Data Factory Together

Reviewed by the Advaith Technologies learning team, founded 2010 by Nehal Sawant. Last updated October 2026.

Azure Data Factory (ADF) is Microsoft’s managed service for building data integration pipelines. Most real-world problems with it are not about clicking through the interface. They come from design choices: how to load incrementally, how to parameterise pipelines so you do not clone them hundreds of times, how to secure connections, and how to promote changes safely between environments.

Our Azure Data Factory training teaches those design choices using your sources, naming standards and deployment process. Because Advaith Technologies is an SAP training specialist, we also cover extracting data from SAP systems, a topic generic online courses rarely handle.

Azure Data Factory Certification: What Actually Exists Today

Many people search for an Azure Data Factory certificate, but Microsoft has no certification dedicated only to Data Factory. The picture has also changed recently, so here is the current position.

CredentialStatusRelevance to Data Factory
Azure Data Engineer Associate (exam DP-203)Retired on 31 March 2025Covered Data Factory, but can no longer be taken or renewed
Fabric Data Engineer Associate (exam DP-700)Current Microsoft data engineering certificationCovers Fabric data pipelines, the successor approach to ADF pipelines
Azure Data Fundamentals (exam DP-900)Foundational. Check availability on Microsoft LearnCore data concepts only, with no hands-on pipeline depth
Advaith training completion certificateIssued by Advaith TechnologiesConfirms participation in our hands-on program, and is not a Microsoft credential

Microsoft administers its own exams and can change or retire them. Our training supports preparation, and we confirm current exam details with your team first. We do not conduct the exams or guarantee results.

Azure Data Factory vs Fabric Data Factory

Teams often ask whether they should still learn ADF. Many organisations run production workloads on it today, while Microsoft is directing new investment toward Microsoft Fabric. We teach both and help you plan the move. This summary reflects the position at the time of writing, and Microsoft keeps closing gaps between the two.

How to Judge the Best Azure Data Factory Course

Whichever provider you choose, use this checklist for any Azure Data Factory online course:

  1. Does it go beyond Copy Activity? Real projects need parameterisation, incremental loads and error handling.
  2. Does it teach deployment? Git and CI/CD are what separate a demo from production work.
  3. Is it honest about certification? Microsoft retired DP-203, and no certification covers only Data Factory.
  4. Does it address Fabric? Microsoft’s direction affects what your team should learn next.
  5. Does it use your sources? Labs on realistic data and security setups beat generic samples.
  6. Are outcomes measured? Look for pre and post assessments, not only attendance.

Azure Data Factory Training and Certification: Frequently Asked Questions

What is Azure Data Factory?

Azure Data Factory (ADF) is Microsoft’s cloud data integration service for building, scheduling and monitoring pipelines that move and transform data between on-premises and cloud sources.

Is there an Azure Data Factory certification?

Microsoft does not offer a certification dedicated only to Azure Data Factory. The Azure Data Engineer Associate exam DP-203, which covered Data Factory, retired on March 31, 2025. Its successor is the Fabric Data Engineer Associate certification (exam DP-700), which includes Fabric pipelines. We confirm current Microsoft exam details with your team before planning.

Does the training prepare us for a Microsoft certification?

We cover the data integration skills that underpin Microsoft’s data engineering path and offer an add-on track on Fabric Data Factory and pipelines. Microsoft administers the exams, and we do not guarantee results.

Is online Azure Data Factory training available?

Yes. Every program runs live online with hands-on labs, the same trainers and the same assessments as classroom delivery.

Do participants receive a certificate?

Participants can receive an Advaith Technologies training completion certificate. Microsoft certifications are separate credentials issued by Microsoft after passing its exams.

Should we learn Azure Data Factory or Fabric Data Factory?

It depends on your estate. Many organisations still run production workloads in Azure Data Factory, while Microsoft is directing new investment toward Fabric. Our program teaches ADF and shows how skills and pipelines map to Fabric Data Factory.

Can you cover SAP data extraction with Azure Data Factory?

Yes. Because Advaith specialises in SAP training, we include a module on connecting ADF to SAP sources and designing extraction patterns, subject to your SAP landscape and licensing.

Which cities do you deliver in?

We deliver at client sites or nearby venues in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Gurugram and Noida, plus 200+ other locations.

How long is the program?

A full course typically runs 40 to 60 hours. A core pipeline-building program runs 24 to 32 hours, and a Fabric Data Factory migration add-on runs 12 to 16 hours. We confirm duration after a needs discussion.
